If you replace the old water heater with a new unit that is similar to the former, you will not find it very difficult to replace. In addition, if you follow the steps below, it will make your task easier. – Turn off the water – If you have a gas stove, turn off the power gas, or if you have an electric heater, turn off the power. – The next step is to drain the water tank. If you do not a floor drain below the valve, you can connect a hose to the drain valve near the base of the tank. Run it in a drain near or outside, then open the valve. – Unscrew the fittings inlet and outlet at the top of the tank, using two keys. – If you have a water heater gas, close the inlet valve of gas. Make sure are at least six inches of clearance around its perimeter, and it is far from any flammable material. – It is preferable that you fill the base with pieces of asphalt shingles or plastic wedges. – Wrap the threads of the fittings to trap heat pipes tape. – Connect the blue wire of the organization in the cold water inlet of the heater, and in making red hot. – Be careful when connecting the same. Install straps around the new water heater. – If the height of the new tank is different the former, you should use flexible pipe connectors for input and output of water. This will enable them to bend whenever is necessary to make the connection.
If the pipes are not threaded, replace them with threaded nipples. Use a wrench to adjust connectors with nipples.
Therefore, if you follow the steps above and councils, it will be easy to replace a water heater.
